Anti-Discrimination of People of Color (PoC) in Adult Education

Name of the Topic

Anti-Discrimination of People of Color (PoC) in Adult Education

OBJECTIVES. Why do we make the video?

People of color in Europe face discrimination on a daily basis – ranging from microaggressions to physical harrasment to outright politically expressed hatred. This does not stop on the doorstep of adult education institutions. In order to make public education safer for people of color it is pivotal to educate educators on discriminatory dynamics and how to intervene meaningfully and prevent the (re)production of racist structures.
This videoscribe aims to sensitise white educators for their own role in upholding white supremacy.

Target group. For which is the target audience video?

White trainers in adult education, white administrative staff in educational institutions, white train-the-trainer-staff and institutions.

What are the key points of the video? What should the viewers learn from the video?

To generate a general understanding that racism does not need to be intentional. That whiteness (and blackness) is a continuous performance and needs unlearning.
